  Why I do what I do...

My husband left for work, I finished getting ready for work, rushing as usual, fussing at my son to hurry up, he was going to be late for school and if he was late I was going to be late for work....you know how that goes right? Seems like we are always rushing to do something, be somewhere, a whole lot of have to's. So another day came rushing in and rushing out. Later that evening, supper was over, our son was in bed and my husband and I settled in for some quiet time. Ring, ring, what the heck...who  in the world is calling this late...he is gone, who is? I was so confused, not again, please God not again.

I had heard those words before from my mother when my sister died, this time it was my brother John who was saying those words.

Our brother was killed in a car accident. I cried for days as I kept hearing my brother Jake say to me before he left, "You can't take your brother to the airport because you have to work,  can't you get someone to cover you for a few hours?

You see, my brother had come to visit my family in Omaha,  Nebraska for Christmas. We had celebrated my birthday on the 28th of December( I also had to work) gone out for New Year's Eve , worked New Year's Day and now it was time for him to go back to California.

He hugged me  so tight  and whispered in my ear, "You can't take  your little brother to the airport?" Then he walked away turned his head and smiled , put on his shades   and walked away. I stood on the porch and waved good-bye then left for work.

The only  words I remember the day my older brother John told me Jake had been killed were .... " You can't take your brother to the airport?"

I  left the planet earth for a few days  and was inconsolable.

When I did recover and gathered my wits about me it was only because of my faith , my family, my friends and yes my work.

  Little did I know this was only the beginning......eight months later my father died from cancer, my mother was diagnosed with mesothelioma and then came the hammer, my husband was diagnosed with  a life -threatening illness .

Okay, okay, I said, "You have my attention"!

When my sister died, a piece of me left with her, my brother was killed another piece GONE! My Daddy GONE! My mother, very ill and now my husband. REALLY!

 Note to self: 

 Please do not let me ever say to someone who is going through a crisis," God never gives us more than we can handle".

 I had to ask myself some tough questions.

I had a great career with a wonderful companythat I had been with for almost eighteen years and the  owners had been very understanding and compassionate when I had to leave for several months on seperate occasions to take care of my brother's funeral arrangements,my father's death, and my husband's illness.

 Each time I would return to work a part of of me was left reflecting on how much I wanted to share with  people about  what I had learned and how to continue living life and engaging in it not just going through the motions.  I began to feel torn between working in jewelry sales and starting my coaching practice.  My husband needed me to be home with him as he recovered and my son needed me as well. There was also the financial security and uncertainty of starting my own business. So slowly I made the transition and guess what ....25 May2013 the jewelry company I worked for filed bankruptcy and closed their doors forever after 180 years. Not exactly the answer I was looking for but hey things happen and then you have to make things happen.

 So here I am !

 Sharing with you my journey filled with laughter, tears, freindship ,  forgiveness and deeper understanding of much God really loves us and I know together as your coach , you will not wait until a door closes.

My spiritual health was in need of a boost which in turn helped my physical health which in turn helped me function in my business to provide for my family.

 Life is tough sometimes and you get knocked down, some days you  just don't want to get out of bed, I get it!

 Life is a gift, a treasure to be celebrated.

Do not waste another minute of your life.

I know you can do it!
